The Garrett ACE 400i sits at the top of the i-series ACE lineup, running a 10 kHz adjustable frequency through an 8.5" x 11" DD PROformance search coil - the same coil design used on Garrett's higher-end AT series. The wider DD coil pattern improves target separation in trashy ground compared to the concentric coils on the 200i and 300i.
Iron Audio produces a distinct audible response for discriminated iron, letting users identify flat iron junk like bottle caps and washers without digging them, while still hearing borderline signals worth investigating.
